General Requirements for Employment:

  • Age Requirement Applicants must be at least 20 years of age on or before the date the application is completed. Applicants cannot have reached their 41st birthday prior to or on the date of appointment as a Dallas Township Police Officer.

  • Residency Requirement - Applicants must be a resident of Pennsylvania at the time of appointment and within 12 months reside within ten miles of Dallas Township. Applicants must also possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license upon appointment as a Dallas Township Police Officer. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen at the time of application.

  • Educational Requirement - Applicants must possess a high school diploma or a G.E.D. Certificate, plus be Act-120 certified as required by the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission for Pennsylvania.

  • Applicants must be capable of possessing requisite skills, knowledge and abilities as described in Dallas Township Police Officer Job Description.

  • Weight must be proportionate to height, must be of good moral character and must be physically able to perform the task of Dallas Township Police officer.

  ** Sworn selection process includes formal application, Successful completion of a thorough background investigation, medical/physical evaluation, drug screening and a psychological evaluation.
