National Law Enforcement Week 2008

     What is it?

     National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of America's law enforcement community.

     There were 181 officers added to the memorial wall this year (2008) that lost their lives in 2007.  In total 358 fallen officers will be officially added to the Memorial.  Please support the mission of the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund.  The mission of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is to generate increased public support for the law enforcement profession by permanently recording and appropriately commemorating the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers; and to provide information that will help promote law enforcement safety.

     Recently one of our officers was in Washington DC during National Law Enforcement Week in May 2008.  Select the link below for a small selection of photos that were taken.  The selection provided are moving and shows the importance to support local law enforcement and the memorial fund.

2nd Annual Fishing Day Sponsored by the Back Mountain Police Association

     Members of the Dallas Township Police helped out at the 2nd Annual Fish Day, This event is made possible by area businesses that donate to the Police Association.  Children from all ages came out and had a great time!! Police Officers from from the BMPA were there to help the children bait there poles and catch the fish.  Before the event started the children were given personal instruction on how to bait there hooks and catch the fish.  Demonstration were also given by K-9 Officer Brian Feeney and his partner Macko.  Macko showed the children how he can find explosive devices by sniffing them out alerting Officer Feeney of his find.  Macko also demonstrated how he can  be utilized for patrol functions by chasing down Ofc. Adams and apprehending him.  It was a fun day for ALL, children and adults and planning for 2009 has already begun.  Select the link below for a small selection of photos that were taken.  The selection provided shows we are more than just giving out tickets.
